Wacky Logo & Brand Design

“The fox symbolizes cleverness, slyness, and is known in some cultures as being a trickster. In other cultures like the Celtic belief system, the fox is seen as a spirit guide, who helps you navigate the spirit world. Foxes are symbols of spirituality, creation, omens, and the afterlife.” allthingsfoxes.com

This final design for the Wacky Zine logo depicts the 2 main pillars for the brand:
Mental Health, and Creativity. The human face on the right is my father who inspired Wacky Zine due to his mental health problems, and tragic suicide aged 49. The fox was my father’s spirit animal, he had a yawning fox tattood on his arm which my mother helped choose from him, she always said it fit his personality very well. Clever, playful, but mysterious.

The image of my father comes from the cover of his first music album released before I was born in the 1990s, my mother took the photograph (scroll down to see cassette-tapes).The logo symbolises the creative and spiritual side of the Wacky brand, as well as my own heritage tied in through my parents.

The colour pallete chosen for the final design (on the next page) evoke feelings connected to the brand’s message:

Orange: Health, Stand-Out, Happiness, Wealth
Purple: Mysterious, Childish, Creative.
Green: Soothing, Eco-friendly, Natural, Balance, Restful. Black: Bold, Power, Mystery, Elegant.
